\u00a0In the Sultanate of Oman, zakat is levied on a Muslim’s wealth to a certain extent. This amount is calculated based on the cash and other assets they own, and is paid annually according to Islamic law.<\/span><\/p>\n

The nisab for wealth is the equivalent of 85 grams of gold, and Zakat al-Mal is measured in gold because it is considered a stable asset. When wealth reaches the nisab and a lunar year has passed, zakat becomes obligatory.<\/span><\/p>\n

The nisab for Zakat al-Mal in Omani Rial is approximately 2,500 Omani Rial; this varies with the market price of gold.<\/span><\/p>\n

How to Calculate Zakat al-Mal in Omani Rial<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

\u00a0In the Sultanate, the principle of Zakat al-Mal<\/a> and the obligatory amount to be disbursed is “one-quarter of a tenth,” or 2.5% of the total wealth including gold and cash.<\/span><\/p>\n

Zakat al-Mal is calculated by taking the total amount and multiplying it by 2.5, then dividing by 100, and the result is the amount of zakat.<\/span><\/p>\n
