Ammar Abu Hamza, a Syrian youth and volunteer in civil defense<\/a>, carries a profound passion and determination despite the hardships he has faced. Forced displacement and a decade-long educational hiatus haven’t deterred his dream of returning to education and contributing to a brighter future for his homeland.<\/p>\n

A Journey of Hope, and Volunteerism Uninterrupted<\/span><\/h2>\n

Ten years have passed since Ammar’s educational interruption due to his father’s death during his schooling and his subsequent forced displacement from Western Ghouta<\/a> in Damascus to Idlib, influenced by the region’s political turmoil and the brutal massacres he witnessed. A strong desire to volunteer in civil defense and save the lives of innocent children grew within him, aiming to alleviate their suffering.<\/p>\n

Passion Found in Online Education<\/span><\/h2>\n

Ammar’s dream of completing his education persisted alongside his volunteer work. However, he initially had doubts and strong resistance towards online education, firmly believing that physical schooling was superior. Yet, witnessing his coworker’s successful experience with remote education through Masarat Initiative, he felt inspired and encouraged to join, recognizing its advantages.<\/p>\n

When asked about his aspirations, Ammar expressed his ambition to pursue higher education in a suitable field. He believed that building a community starts with individual development and aimed to learn everything he can to pass on to his children. He envisions them becoming mature individuals actively contributing to societal development and preparing future generations for their responsibilities.<\/p>\n
