This is the month when duas for Ramadan can change your life, when every prayer, and every whispered supplication is heard by Allah.
Have you ever felt the weight of your sins and wished for a fresh start? Ramadan gives us that chance. It’s a time to seek Allah’s mercy, and fill your days and nights with heartfelt duas. From the first days of mercy to the last ten nights.
Du’a for Reaching Ramadan
As the blessed month of Ramadan comes closer, Muslims hope and pray to witness it in good health and strong faith. A well-known phrase often heard is:
“Allahumma ballighna Ramadan” (O Allah, let us reach Ramadan).
While this statement expresses a heartfelt request, it is not authentically traced back to the Prophet ﷺ. However, a du’a from the Companions (Sahabah) asks Allah to allow them to experience Ramadan safely and benefit from its blessings.
This du’a was taught by Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, a student of the noble Sahabah:
Du’a to Reach Ramadan
Allahumma sallimni ila Ramadan wa sallim li Ramadan wa tasallamhu minni mutaqabbala
Meaning: O Allah! Preserve me until Ramadan, safeguard Ramadan for me, and accept it from me (receive my deeds with acceptance).
This du’a asks Allah for three important things:
- To grant us life until Ramadan, so we do not miss the chance to worship.
- To protect our Ramadan, allowing us to make the most of its rewards.
- To accept our fasting, prayers, and good deeds, as only what Allah accepts will bring benefit in the Hereafter.
Best Duas for Ramadan
Ramadan is a month of mercy, forgiveness, and immense blessings. Muslims are encouraged to increase their supplications and remembrance of Allah.
The Prophet ﷺ emphasized the importance of making dua, as it is a powerful means of drawing closer to Allah and seeking His guidance, protection, and blessings.

The second Ashra of Ramadan is a time for seeking forgiveness. As the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) mentioned, the middle ten days of Ramadan are dedicated to maghfirah, or forgiveness.
It is a time to turn to Allah with sincerity and ask for His mercy and pardon.
The best Dua for the Second Ashra of Ramadan is:

What To Do During the Second Ashra
Seek forgiveness constantly
Engage in istighfar throughout the day, asking Allah to wipe away past sins and grant a fresh start.

Gift Iftar to a family in need
Increase voluntary prayers
Adding extra prayers, such as Tahajjud and Salat al-Duha, can help strengthen faith and seek Allah’s mercy.
Reflect on past actions
This is a good time to review one’s deeds, make amends, and ensure that any wrongdoing towards others is corrected.
Strengthen the habit of good deeds
As the final Ashra approaches, it is beneficial to set spiritual goals to carry forward beyond Ramadan.
